Rocking Chair
This is a song my dad wrote years ago. He let me do a little cowriting with him on it and I was able to write a line or two on the bridge. It's starts out with a rocking chair which transitions into guitar picking. The song asks one of life's most diffucult questions, "Where do we go" after we die. It's a sad but yet happy song. I also like that this is a bridge song. Keep on Rocking!
Rocking Chair
Songwriter - Tim West & John West
Album - Who's Been Sleeping in Papa Bear's Bed?
The old man is in his rocking chair
He don't do much he just sits and stares
At the moon above his cloudy sky
The people who pass him on by
The old lady is down in central park
She walks alone with her broken heart
In a world that seems like make believe
With time her only enemy
B ridge - So can you tell me where do you go?
When the spirit is broken and it drys the bones
Do we all just fade away?
Rock, rock, rocking our lives away
You're an old old women you're an old old man
Trying to get by, I know that you can
Be anything you want to be
Just waiting on the body to set your spirit free
Vocals / Guitar / Lead Guitar - John West
Drums / Piano / Bass / Harmonica - John Houston
