Robin Hood
Tadi and I feel in love with the Robin Hood series on PBS. Every night we'd come home and watch another episode. We then bought the Robin Hood carton movie from the 1970's for the kids. Roger Miller inspired me to write a new Robin Hood tune. I've woven a thread of modern day politics in to this tune to keep things current. I hope you enjoy it!
Robin Hood
Songwriter - John West
Album - Robin Hood
Well the poor are getting poorer in Burmingham
And the crooked politicians don't give a ... man
The lust and the greed are out of control
And this selfish idleness is going to ruin us all
Chorus - Hey Hey Robin Hood
The Sheriff's been up to no good
There's trouble in our neighborhood
Where are you Robin Hood?
Well they tax our foods and they tax our lands
And then they disrespect the constitution
A sacred document made to make us free
But each new law brings poverty
Chorus - (Repeat, with Washington)
Bridge -
Little John and Robin Hood running through the forrest
Laughing back and forth at what the other had to say
Reminiscing this and that and having such a good time
Odalade Odalade Golly What a day
Never ever dreaming that a scheming Sheriff and his Posse Were watching them a wandering around
Will we all let them in or will we come together as friends With Robin Hood and bring them down?
Chorus - (Repeat)
Vocals / Guitar - John West
Drums / Piano / Synth / Piano / Bass- John Houston
Recorded at the Swami of the 3
