Never Said a Word

While I was in highschool my dad showed me a few chord changes to a new song he was writing. I stole the chord changes and wrote some lyrics. I really enjoyed writing this song with him. This is a bridge song and I like how the singer blames the girl for a missed opportunity at love until in the end he realizes he himself never said a word.

Never Said a Word
Songwriter - John West
Album - Robin Hood

Tear drop fell this morning from a young cowgirl's eye
She left without a warning talk about a bad surprise
But how could I have known she never said a word

I just heard from a friend of hers for me she really cared
And at night she'd dream of me and the times we never shared
But how could I have known she never said a word

So long farewell I'll miss you so much
So long farewell I'll miss you girl so much

Well the world just keeps on turning I guess it's turning the wrong way
Now she's gone for ever and it's because of what I didn't say
Cause how could she have known I never said a word
