Hurt People, Hurt People



My mom often would remind us that hurt people hurt people. The little saying really sunk in for me. It makes a lot of sense. When I'm feeling hurt, I often will take it out on others and hurt them. I believe that most of the evil and wrong doing in this world stem from hurt people. Momma always knew best.
 One thing that I would never want is for my wife to call my mom and tell her that her son was being mean to her. Well, it actually almost happened once. I wasn't being very nice early on in my marriage, and my wife picked up the phone to call and tell my mom. I instantly became really nice again. That's why one of my favorite lines in the song is -"She called up his momma and told her she ought to be ashamed of her pitiful son." 

Now you know that if anyone ever hurts you, odds are they are hurting themselves. Be tough enough to shake it off and love them back.
