John performed at Western Legends in Kanab, Utah on Friday August 29th at 12:45pm and 6pm. The crowd was great and it was fun! Thanks for coming and singing along!

John has been attending and helping out SUSWA (Southern Utah Songwriters Association) by spear heading a weekly "Tune Smithing" class. SUSWA meets every Tuesday at 6pm. The classes are held at Dan the Guitar Man's store on Bluff street in St. George.

August 30th, 2008 John West performed in Hurricane, UT at the city's annual Peach Days Celebration. He was introduced as a special guest for Blackhawk Walters and preformed two songs. Blackhawk recorded "Put on Your Birthday Suit" on his Cowboys and Indians Album released in 2008. http://cdbaby.com/cd/blackhawkwalters

SUSWA awarded John West's song "Theif on the Run" a spot on their 2008 Compilation Album. There were over 100 entries and only 20 songs made the album.

During April through June John was asked by SUSWA to perform at St. George's Ancestor Square, The Down Town Park, and Jazzy Java Cafe. He entertained the audiences with songs like " I Wish I Was a Mexican, I'd Have an Affair With You, and Dreams Change."
